Lets Start!

The Design Process-continued

Here, we will guide you through a typical process from the initial design meeting to construction drawings.
Initial Design Meeting
This is where the 'paper napkin drawings', cut out magazine pictures and your other saved design information will be discussed. We will talk about general square footage, layout and features, home style, subdivision requirements and covenants and size constraints for your lot.
Initial Plan Review Meeting
At this point, the initial plan has been drawn to 1/4"=1'-0" scale on 11" x 17" paper and many of the basics that were discussed during the Initial Design Meeting have been incorporated into the plan. This plan will include the four basic elevations, dimensions and relavant details up to this point. Once this initial plan has been agreed upon, we will start adding details.
Design Review & Approval
This design review process can take from several days to a couple of weeks depending on which changes are wanted. We are continuing to modify the plans reflecting your desired changes and are in constant contact with you. This stage of the design process is by far the most important which will transform your dream into your house. Once this Preliminary Design has been approved, we continue to move forward drawing additional details - exterior trims, soffits and finishes; interior trims, ceiling details, beam details etc. At the end of this stage, the drawings should reflect everything that you wanted.
